Local coalition renews call for California reparations

LOS ANGELES — A coalition of community organizations is once again advocating for policies that will bring about positive change and equal opportunities for descendants of slaves after two important reparations bills were prevented from advancing to a vote in the state assembly.  The coalition called Reparations Over Everything calls for Gov. Gavin Newsom to move forward on material reparations, adding that the formal apology he just issued is important but insufficient.
