Castries Comprehensive Secondary School (CCSS) claimed their first win while Corinth Secondary School (CSS) sunk to a second straight loss when the two met up on Monday in the Schools’ Under-19 50-Over Boys’ Cricket Tournament. The nailbiting encounter was played at the Gros Islet Playing Field, with the match reduced to 35 overs a side due to rain. National and Windward Islands Under-15 player Daniel Lorde led CCSS to a total of 199. The 14-year-old from Assou Canal in Gros Islet hit the competition’s first century, 107 inclusive of 14 fours and 3 sixes. Other notable scores for CCSS, as they were dismissed in 30.2 overs, came from Kareem Francis with 22 and Tristan Isidore with 22 not out. Armani Lesmond took 3-33 for Corinth, Neil Poyotte 2-28, and Darren Felix 2-34. In reply, Corinth Secondary made a good fist of it, but ultimately fell 11 runs short. Zidane Wilson top-scored with 44 as Corinth made 188 all out in 25.2 overs. Armani Lesmond added 21, Neil Poyotte 20, and Tristan  Wilson 16.
