Former Chicago mayor and federal investigator Lori Lightfoot will investigate Village of Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard. On Monday, the Village of Dolton Board of Trustees voted to hire Lightfoot.& This development comes a month and a half after the board approved a resolution calling for a federal investigation into the embattled mayor over allegations she misappropriated village funds and credit cards, made unauthorized payments to vendors, and withheld payment for approved invoices. According to ABC 7 Chicago, Dolton is expected to pay Lightfoot $400 per hour for the investigation, with a maximum of $30,000. She has 60 days to finish the investigation and share the findings with the board and the public. However, since Lightfoot lacks prosecutorial authority, the outcome of her inquiry remains uncertain.
