Lynn’s Beyond Walls Nonprofit Spotlights Street Art For Boston Design Week

LYNN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A nonprofit in Lynn has partnered with Boston Design Week to offer a tour of the city’s public artworks. Beyond Walls has installed almost 100 large-scale street art pieces across Lynn as part of their mission to address community needs using a creative lens. “A big part of what we do is community and economic development, and the mom-and-pop eateries and the bodegas and the shops are really the lifeblood” of Beyond Walls, said Al Wilson, the founder and CEO. The goal of their public art initiatives is to “enhance the physical landscape” while also contributing to positive economic change, according to their website. Dozens of international and local artists have traveled to Lynn to create street art, and on Wednesday evening, the Beyond Walls team is leading a tour of many of the artworks.
