Brooklyn, NY, October 17, 2024 – DJ Mary Mac, Madonna’s official tour DJ, and DJ LiKWUiD, a U.S. Hip Hop Cultural Ambassador for the Department of State, proudly present Banjee Boombox, a QT/BIPOC festival collective dedicated to amplifying the voices of women, non-binary, and LGBTQAI+ artists. This event will take place live at The Sultan Room in Brooklyn, with performances from renowned and emerging talents. “Our goal is to amplify and embrace all,” says DJ LiKWUiD, co-founder of Banjee Boombox. “The music industry can be male-dominated and misogynistic, but we’re here to create safe spaces that celebrate the beauty in the masculine, the feminine, and everything in between.” DJ Mary Mac adds, “Banjee Boombox is more than just music; it’s a movement.” The event features a live festival and the release of Banjee Boombox, Vol. 1, a mixtape showcasing artists including psychedelic rap diva Dai Burger, GLAAD award-winner Bry’Nt, Outmusic Award-winner Baron Artist, and many others. Notable festival performers include viral sensation Miranda Writes, award-winning artist Marck Angel, and DJ Taela Naomi.
