The Birmingham Times The Miles College Purple Marching Machine and Tuskegee University Marching Crimson Pipers are among eight of the nation’s most prestigious Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) marching bands in the lineup for the 10th Anniversary of the Pepsi National Battle of the Bands (NBOTB). This year’s event, themed “Celebrating Champions of Culture,” not only honors the legacy of HBCU marching bands but also champions their enduring influence on music and culture.
