MJQ Productions brings Christmas story ‘The Reason’ to life in new stage play

MJQ Productions, owned by a hometown writer located in Hampton, returns after the 2011 success of the dinner theater, A Party Fit for a King. MJQ Productions is back with a unique stage play, The Reason, a Christmas story about a man’s struggle with Christmas being celebrated “as usual”. This exceptional story written by Mignon begins when George Jones expresses his disappointment with the way Christmas is celebrated. His belief forces him to make decisions that upset both his HOA and his wife, Susie. George earns a nickname like A Christmas Carol’s, Ebenezer Scrooge. His sullenness about Christmas affects his marriage and peace of mind as he refuses to conform to tradition. We follow George’s journey as he makes their holidays miserable. He finds out why he’s so bitter at Christmas time and how his sister reveals the secret that the two of them promised to keep as children. Only to find out that, she hid an even more sinister family secret. Through George’s journey, we see the strength of love and the formidable human spirit after tough times, which can resonate strongly with today’s audiences.
