Contributed “Retired educator, Merri Gaither Smith will be signing copies of her newly released book “Endurance” at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center on Sunday March 24 at 2 p.m. The book is an anthology of stories curated by Gaither Smith that chronicles the Black experience through the lives of real people. It includes salient and micro instances of racism, individual reactions and effects in a broad range of settings, including public, private, the workplace and at leisure, and the book provides a glimpse at how Blacks have coped and endured.
