New Mental Health Facility Pays Tribute to Late Sheriff Roberts of Hampton

In late April, a ribbon-cutting event marked the inauguration of the BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center in Hampton, made possible by a generous bequest from the late Sheriff Billy Joe Roberts. Spanning 20,000 square feet, this facility aims to provide compassionate care for those facing acute mental health challenges, offering various urgent services such as therapy, medication management, suicide prevention, and crisis intervention. Unlike conventional emergency rooms, the center prioritizes a tranquil, supportive environment conducive to healing. The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board facilitated this momentous grand opening.
