Newark: Justice For Carl Dorsey, Stop Police Brutality Rally To Be Held New Year’s Day

Photos: FacebookThe Justice For Carl Dorsey & Stop Police Brutality Rally will be held Monday, January 1, 2024, 12:00 noon, at City Hall, 920 Broad Street in Newark, NJ. The rally is sponsored by the People’s Organization For Progress (POP).The purpose of the rally is to draw attention to the case of Carl Dorsey, killed by Rod Simpkins, a Newark police detective, three years ago. Mr Dorsey was killed January 1, 2021 in Newark, New Jersey. The rally will mark the second anniversary of his death.Speaking at the event will be members of Carl Dorsey’s family, the family members of other police brutality victims, and community activists.The People’s Organization For Progress together with members of the Dorsey family demanded a federal investigation into Mr Dorsey’s death.“Mr Dorsey was unarmed when he was shot and killed by that Newark detective.
