Nigerian Changemaker, Dr. Stella Onuoha-Obilor Makes American Health Magazine’s 2024 Black Leaders List

Dr. Stella Onuoha-Obilor, the Vice President of Clinical Quality and Population Health at Highmark Health, United States, has been named one of the “231+ Black Healthcare Leaders to Know” for 2024 by American leading hospital magazine, Becker’s Hospital Review, otherwise known as Becker’s Healthcare.
The list recognises Black leaders who are “shaping the patient experience, educating providers, and furthering equity and inclusion” in the healthcare sector.

In their profile on Dr. Onuoha-Obilor, Becker’s Healthcare acknowledged her leadership in developing Highmark Health’s clinical quality strategy, standardising and improving quality metrics, aligning medical policies with regulations, and spearheading population health initiatives that have reduced drug misuse while addressing underutilisation of key services.
“I am thrilled to announce that I have been recognized by Becker’s Healthcare,” Dr. Onuoha-Obilor wrote in a LinkedIn post on Saturday.
“It is an honor to be among such exceptional individuals dedicated to improving health outcomes and promoting health equity. I am grateful for this recognition and thankful to El-Roi, the God that sees me.”
An accomplished physician and public health expert, Dr. Onuoha-Obilor earned her medical degree from the University of Calabar College of Medicine.
