Minister for Crime Prevention Jeremiah Norbert has warned would-be violent criminals that unlawful actions will attract justice. “If you believe that taking up arms and committing violence is an option, this government will pursue every legal avenue to ensure that you are brought to justice,” Norbert asserted. The Micoud North MP spoke this week at a ceremony to hand over three new vehicles to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF). He called attention to the pressing issue of youth violence in Saint Lucia, urging young men to seek positive paths rather than resorting to crime. “This government is working hard to ensure that we provide opportunities for everyone in this country,” the Minister told the ceremony at the Police Academy in La Toc, Castries. Norbert also highlighted the government’s commitment to investing in infrastructure, education, and sports to combat the allure of violence.
