Charged in September, he was accused of making threats related to school properties after posting a meme featuring President Donald Trump’s words, “We have to get over it,” which followed a tragic school shooting in Perry, Iowa, earlier that year.Concerns from group members prompted multiple calls to local authorities, which led to an investigation involving both Perry County and Lexington police. Bodycam footage depicts the interaction between officers and Bushart, where he defended his post against claims of violent insinuation. Officials asserted he could have avoided arrest had he removed the post. Ultimately, charges were dismissed on October 29, though the incident cost Bushart his medical transport job.
