The Parkinson’s Foundation will host its first annual Moving Day beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 21 at Connor Prairie. The event will raise funds to support research, care and educational programs for Parkinson’s Disease.  Parkinson’s Disease in Black Americans can mean less access to care, a disparity the Parkinson’s Foundation is seeking to raise awareness about. (Photo/Getty Images) Moving Day is centered around movement and exercise — both of which are proven to help manage symptoms of Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s Disease affects nearly one million Americans and is characterized by a progressive loss of motor control. There is no cure.& Black people diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease face health disparities, lack of resources and less access to care and research opportunities.
