Police Identify Victim of Fatal Collision

Police have identified the victim of Saturday’s fatal collision as 62-year-old Bois Patat resident Monica Calixte. At about 8:00 p.m., the police Traffic Department in Castries received a report of a vehicular collision involving a pickup van and a pedestrian along the Vide Bouteille Highway. At the scene, investigators observed personnel from the Saint Lucia Fire Service administering aid to the sole occupant of the motor pickup. An ambulance conveyed a female pedestrian involved in the collision to the Owen King European Union (OKEU) Hospital with serious injuries. She was later pronounced dead.
