Police Identify Victim Of Fatal Marchand Shooting

Police have identified the victim of Thursday’s fatal shooting in Marchand, Castries, as 25-year-old Kurtlan Augustin. Pronounced dead at 8:20 pm, Augustin became Saint Lucia’s 51st homicide victim. A second man sustained gunshot injuries as a result of the shooting, which occurred in a shop. According to an eyewitness who requested anonymity, about six shots were fired during a scuffle among some men. The eyewitness recalled that two men sustained injuries and were rushed to the OKEU Hospital, where one of them was pronounced dead. Investigators said the assailant is still at large.
