Police Investigate Suspected Drowning in Fond St Jacques

Police are investigating the suspected drowning of a 64-year-old man at St Philip, Fond St. Jacques, Soufrière on Sunday.
The deceased, Augustin Bertin, was a resident of the community.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force said in a statement that around 5:45 p.m., police officers attached to the Soufrière Police Station received the report of the suspected drowning.
They discovered Bertin’s unresponsive body and he was later pronounced dead at the scene by a medical practitioner.
Police said a post mortem is scheduled for a later date.
