Police Lay Murder, Attempted Murder Charges

On Friday, November 24, 2023, The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the attempted murder of one individual and the shooting death of twenty-three (23) year-old Mikus Prescott of Belvedere Street, Vieux- Fort, on Commercial Street, Vieux Fort. Investigations into this incident resulted in the arrest of two males. On Thursday, November 30, 2023, Officers attached to the Major Crimes Unit preferred charges against twenty-four (24) year-old Shermack Tal for having committed the offences of Murder and Attempted Murder. Twenty-one (21) year-old Giovanni Augustin was charged with Attempted Murder. They were escorted to court on Monday, December 4, 2023, where both were remanded in custody until Thursday, January 11, 2024.
