Saint Lucia police have issued an appeal to road users to exercise caution following an accident on Monday that claimed the life of a motorcyclist. Police have identified the deceased as Corinth resident Jim Augustin. The thirty-three-year-old succumbed to his injuries at the OKEU Hospital. According to the police, at about 11:19 p.m., the Traffic Department received a report of a fatal motorcycle accident along the Sir Julian R. Hunte Highway in Gros-Islet. The Officers responded, and preliminary investigations revealed that a motorcycle had collided with a motor car. A medical practitioner at the OKEU Hospital later pronounced the motorcyclist, Jim Augustin, dead. A police release said there would be a post-mortem examination later. “The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force advises motorists to exercise caution while driving and to comply with the laws that regulate vehicle operations and road usage,” the release stated.
