The current Copyright Law has long been a source of frustration for many Ugandan creatives, with artists expressing concerns that their works often go unrecognized and uncompensated. For years, musicians, filmmakers, and other creators have called for reforms to ensure they receive financial recognition for their hard work. During his speech, Raga Dee emphasized that the revised law would mark a significant change for the creative industry in Uganda, which has struggled under the outdated legislation. “This new law will address the concerns of our artists and ensure they benefit financially from their creativity,” he said.
