Renowned New York street artist Claw Money mentors young artists in Yarra

Yarra City Council International graffiti artist Claw Money worked with four young artists from the City of Yarra to create a new mural at Fitzroy Pool. The unique 23-metre mural was developed by Claw Money (Claudia Gold) and can be seen on the exterior of Yarra’s iconic Fitzroy Pool. Three creative young people from Yarra Youth Services assisted Claw Money with the mural which is a celebration of female artists and street culture. Eliza McEvoy, Youth Development Officer, Yarra Youth Services described the event as an historic moment capturing Melbourne’s street art culture. “We’re proud that our young people have had the opportunity to learn from such a talented artist, and to be a part of Claudia’s commitment to women’s empowerment by supporting young women to take part in graffiti and street art culture,” she says. “The mural will also contribute to Yarra’s vibrant and continuing public arts history,” Ms McEvoy says.
