Republic Bank Warns Customers Of New Phishing Scam

Republic Bank has issued an urgent warning to its customers about a surge in phishing attempts designed to steal sensitive online banking information. Fraudsters are mimicking Republic Bank’s official email alerts, tricking recipients into clicking on fraudulent links.
According to Republic Bank, the emails often come disguised as transaction dispute notifications, encouraging users to “dispute” a transaction by clicking a provided link. However, the link directs customers to a counterfeit website that closely resembles Republic Bank’s official site.
According to the bank, once customers enter their information on the fake site, cybercriminals can access:
RepublicOnline User Login ID
RepublicOnline Password
Secret Answers (which are never requested in genuine alerts)
Personal Email Addresses
Email Passwords (which the bank will never request)
Republic Bank emphasised that providing these details can enable fraudsters to impersonate customers and gain unauthorised access to their accounts.
The Bank has advised customers to:
Verify Emails: Customers should carefully inspect email senders and avoid clicking on suspicious links.
Secure Login: Always access Republic Bank’s online banking by typing the official website address directly into their browser.
Stay Alert: Be wary of any request for email passwords or secret answers, especially when linked to a supposed bank transaction.
