Rich Township Celebrates Prominent Illinois Women in Appreciation Gathering

Rich Township Supervisor and Democratic Committeeman Calvin Jordan will be joined by the Rich Township Board of Trustees and over 200 female business leaders, elected officials and civic and clergy leaders to honor powerful women throughout Cook County as they collectively launch Women’s History Month in Cook County. Supervisor Jordan has consistently lauded the enormous impact women have had in Cook County and statewide government. “The most profound change in American politics today and in the years to come will result from a massive movement of women into the Democratic Party. Women’s participation in Congress has increased substantially in the past four decades. Women now make up a quarter of members of Congress, which is more than double the number who served in the 106th Congress of 1999 to 2001.” says Supervisor Jordan The afternoon gala will feature many A-list women in government, education, entertainment, and business. Matteson Mayor Sheila Chalmers-Currin will be the keynote speaker.
