On Tuesday night, Russell Westbrook became the first player in NBA history to record 200 triple-doubles. In Denver‘s 122-110 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, the Nuggets point guard, who previously held the league record for triple-doubles, set a new record by scoring 12 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out 14 assists off the bench.
As a Denver Nugget, it was Westbrook’s first triple-double of the season. In 2021, he beat Oscar Robertson’s record of 181 triple-doubles while playing with the Washington Wizards.

Westbrook’s teammate Nikola Jokić is the next closest active player to him with 136 triple-doubles, but he now holds the record with 200. With 117 single-game triple-doubles during his career, LeBron James is the only other active player with more than 100.
In the offseason, Westbrook agreed to a two-year, $6.8 million contract with the Nuggets. As a reserve for the Jokić-led team, he has averaged 10.7 points, 5.3 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game in 12 games.
