SAACS Clears The Air On Viral Substance Alert

The Substance Abuse Advisory Council Secretariat (SAACS) has disclosed there is no evidence that a substance alert that went viral on social media originated from Saint Lucia. The alert, addressed to parents, claims that a sweet product being sold to children allegedly causes them to experience ‘abnormal symptoms’ after the youngsters spray it in their mouths. Concerned parents and others have inundated the SAACS with queries since the alert began circulating. As a result, the SAACS issued a general advisory regarding psychoactive substances, urging parents to be on guard when purchasing candies for their children and read the labels.
