The Cultural Development Foundation (CDF) has officially declared that this year’s La Magéwit (La Marguerite Flower Festival) will occur in La Resource, Dennery, on Friday, October 17, 2025, in celebration of the Feast of Saint Marguerite Alacoque. Esteemed as one of Saint Lucia’s most treasured manifestations of cultural heritage, this event promises a lively exhibition of music, drama, and communal camaraderie. The festivities will commence with a service at St Michael’s Parish Church at 10 a.m., leading into a grand cultural parade that will flow to the La Resource Playing Field, featuring traditional performances from Marguerite societies and school groups throughout the island.Raymona Henry-Wynne, CDF’s Executive Director, emphasized the event's cultural significance, highlighting its role as “a living testament to who we are.” Ryan Germain, the Senior Media and Communications Officer, shared that innovative elements have been introduced to elevate the festival while maintaining authenticity, with numerous schools and groups expected to participate actively this year. The event will also be live-streamed on YouTube and Facebook, ensuring inclusivity for the diaspora community.
