The Saint Lucia Red Cross (SLRC) has launched a groundbreaking initiative to reduce crime by addressing the root causes of conflict within communities. During Saturday’s Community Service Open Day, the Red Cross unveiled the ‘Conflict Resolution and Legal Facility.’ It promotes peaceful solutions through community engagement, mediation, and legal services. The need for such a service has become increasingly urgent in light of rising crime rates, often exacerbated by unresolved disputes. By partnering with trained mediators and legal professionals, the SLRC hopes to make conflict resolution services more accessible to the public. During the event held at the Gros Islet Human Resource Development Center, community members engaged in workshops, demonstrations, and interactive activities designed to educate attendees about the benefits of the Conflict Resolution and Legal Facility.
