Campbell Soup Exec's Stupid Remarks Lead To Boycott and Lawsuit Over Racial Discrimination

A high-ranking official at Campbell Soup Company faces a lawsuit from former employee Robert Garza, who recorded the executive disparaging the brand's offerings and customers, referring to them as “f–king poor people.” Garza, a security analyst since September 2024, claimed he was unfairly terminated after reporting Vice President Martin Bally's offensive remarks during a November 2024 salary meeting, according to the lawsuit filed in Wayne County Circuit Court.In the revealing tape, which excerpts were aired by Local 4 News, Bally ridiculed employees and expressed disdain for “bioengineered meat,” stating, “I don’t wanna eat a piece of chicken that came from a 3D printer.” Garza reported Bally’s comments to his supervisor, J.D. Aupperle, in January 2025, but received no guidance. The lawsuit, asserting claims of racial hostility and retaliation, seeks damages for emotional distress and legal fees. Campbell's has acknowledged the allegations and is currently investigating the case, which has sparked significant online backlash.
