Photo by Donnell Suggs/The Atlanta Harris Days before United States Vice President Kamala Harris returns to Atlanta for a scheduled campaign stop, the city of East Point officially signed on to be a part of her presidential journey. The newest Harris for President campaign office was full of supporters on Friday afternoon as Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA), Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (WA) and East Point Mayor Deanna Holiday Ingraham all were on hand to speak with Harris and democratic supporters about the vice president’s chances of becoming one of the very few sitting vice presidents to become president. If elected Harris can make history on many different levels. Four sitting vice presidents have been elected president: John Adams in 1796, Thomas Jefferson in 1800, Martin Van Buren in 1836, and George H. W. Bush, Ronald Reagan’s second in charge, in 1988. Richard Nixon in 1968 and Joe Biden in 2020 are the only former vice presidents to make it back to the White House after serving roles...
