The Saint Lucia Air and Seaport Authority (SLASPA) has announced an increase in car park rates at Hewanorra International Airport, citing the need to fund much-needed upgrades. The new rates, which will take effect on January 27, are as follows: $5 per hour, $25 per day (beyond 10 hours), $100 per week, and a $50 lost ticket fee. The previous rates were $3 per hour, $2 per hour or part thereof after the first hour until the fifth hour, a daily rate of $15 (beyond six hours), and a $15 lost ticket fee. According to SLASPA, the increased rates are being implemented to facilitate upgrades at the airport.  “These adjustments are part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the overall experience for all visitors by upgrading our facilities and delivering a higher standard of service,” it said in a press release. The upgrades, which SLASPA outlined as the rationale for the rate hike, will include the modernisation of parking infrastructure, enhanced security features, improved lighting, and streamlined ticketing and payment systems.   SLASPA asserted that these changes will help it offer “a safer, more convenient, and customer-friendly parking experience.” The article SLASPA Says Increased Car Park Rates to Facilitate Upgrades is...
