The South Side Healthy Community Organization is excited to announce its first-ever Community Empowerment Health Fair, a free event designed to bring vital health resources and wellness activities to the community. The fair will take place on Saturday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kroc Community Center, located at 1250 W. 119th Street. This family-friendly event will feature an expert panel discussion on mental health, moderated by SSHCO CEO Kimberly Hobson.& The panel, scheduled from 11-11:45 a.m., will include Dr. Olusimbo Ige, Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH); Dr. Travis Amengual, a psychiatrist at Sinai Hospital; and Ms. Nita Marchant, a behavioral health specialist at Beloved Wellness Center.& This discussion aims to provide insights and answer community questions on mental health challenges and solutions. In addition to the panel, attendees can benefit from a range of free health services. These include high blood pressure, diabetes, and STI testing.
