Because of the recent controversy surrounding Ryan Garcia, sports TV celebrity Stephen A. Smith has expressed strong sentiments about the boxer and advocated for his permanent banishment from the sport. During a recent social media livestream, Garcia made derogatory remarks about Muslims and racialized black people. He tested positive for ostarine after his bout against Devin Haney in April, and as a result, he has already been suspended for a year. Additionally, Garcia is not allowed to compete for any of the WBC’s titles. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman made this announcement in a sharply worded tweet.Smith believes that this is insufficient, though. Smith stressed in a recent YouTube video that the 25-year-old boxer ought to be punished even more severely for his disrespectful actions. Smith said,“Ryan Garcia… He should be suspended indefinitely,”. “There should be a dissociation with him from the sport of boxing. It’s a byproduct of alcohol and drugs. He definitely seems to have a screw loose and nobody is interested in being compassionate. “He does not seem in his right mind; he seems out there and he has completely tarnished his career”.
