Chicago's prestigious Steppenwolf Theatre Company is once more garnering national recognition. Playwright Branden Jacobs-Jenkins secured the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for "Purpose," a piece commissioned and premiered at Steppenwolf before its Broadway debut. Artistic Directors Glenn Davis and Audrey Francis celebrated this achievement, highlighting Steppenwolf’s dedication to new, ensemble-driven works. "Purpose," which premiered on March 24, 2024, quickly became a top-grossing show, directed by Phylicia Rashad and featuring esteemed actors. Currently, it runs at the Helen Hayes Theater in New York.
