According to the American Heart Association, Black individuals in the United States face a significantly higher likelihood of developing various cardiovascular ailments compared to other racial groups. This includes conditions such as heart failure, stroke, and hypertension, with nearly 60% of Black adults grappling with cardiovascular diseases, in contrast to a national average of 49%.Tara Robinson, CEO and co-founder of the Black Heart Association (BHA), highlighted the organization's commitment to this crisis on their website, stating, "In a world where heart disease relentlessly affects the Black community, there is a guiding light – the Black Heart Association."A three-time heart attack survivor, Robinson’s personal journey prompted the establishment of BHA alongside her husband, Fredrick, to raise awareness regarding heart disease prevalence in their community. They aim to combat the socioeconomic barriers that hinder access to preventive care and treatment strategies. Through culturally aligned outreach efforts, the BHA fosters community engagement and education about heart health, ensuring a broader understanding of cardiovascular disease prevention.
