Suspect In Custody After Fatal Stabbing Of Guatemalan Woman

Police say they have a male suspect in custody in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman from Guatemala, identified as Sofia Munoz.
Investigators disclosed that Munoz was a Saint Lucia Animal Protection Society (SLAPS) intern who resided at Cap Estate.
Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) personnel learned of the incident at 7:13 pm on Thursday when they received a physical assault report at Monier, Gros Islet.
At the scene, the responders found the deceased on her back in a pool of blood in a bathroom tub.
A twenty-four-year-old man also sustained physical assault injuries, including ‘multiple puncture wounds’.
According to the SLFS, he received treatment and transportation to a medical facility for advanced care.
Gros Islet police are continuing investigations into the incident.
