Jamal Bryant Says Target's CEO Change Is A Deceptive Tactic to Mislead Shoppers—No Backing Down!

A pastor in the Atlanta region, Jamal Bryant, is spearheading a boycott against Target due to the company's discontinuation of its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Despite Target's recent leadership transition—current CEO Brian Cornell moving to the role of Executive Chair and COO Michael Fiddelke stepping up to CEO—Bryant asserts the boycott will persist. During a CNN interview with Kate Bolduan, Bryant described the leadership change as merely a superficial shift, likening it to "moving peanut shells in Central Park." He expressed eagerness to engage the new CEO regarding their demands, which include a $2 billion commitment to Black communities and $250 million in Black banks. Sales have suffered, with July reporting a 3.8% decrease in store traffic. Over 350,000 individuals have now joined Bryant's petition, reinforcing that the boycott will continue until meaningful action is taken. (Photo: Atlanta Black Star)
