Nathan Cochran was appointed director of athletics at South Carolina State University. He arrives from Walsh University in Canton, Ohio, where he has served as athletics director and vice president for athletics since February 2023. Earlier, he was executive director of athletics and recreation at Xavier University in New Orleans. A Colorado native, Dr. Cochran earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from South Carolina State University. He holds a master’s degree in management from Webster University in Missouri and a doctorate in adult and higher education from Morehead State University in Kentucky. Nehemiah Yisrael was hired as director of procurement and property control at Morgan State University in Baltimore. He is responsible for leading all aspects of the department’s operations, including developing and implementing procurement programs, systems, and processes to improve cost, efficiency, quality, and customer responsiveness. Before he arrived at Morgan, Yisrael served as the director of procurement at the United States Department of Agriculture’s, Food and Nutrition Services in Alexandria, Virginia.
