Alyn Goodson has been named executive vice chancellor. He has been with Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina since 2012, currently serving as vice chancellor, chief of staff, and general counsel.
Goodson is a graduate of North Carolina State University, where he majored in political science. He holds a master of laws degree in taxation from Georgetown University and a juris doctorate from North Carolina Central University.
Ontario S. Wooden has been selected to serve as interim provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs. For the past year, he has served as senior associate dean in the division of academic and student affairs at North Carolina State University. He previously served as interim president of Alcorn State University in Mississippi.
Dr. Wooden is a cum laude graduate of Albany State University, where he majored in early childhood education. He holds a master’s degree in higher education and a Ph.D. in higher education with a minor in African American and African diaspora studies from Indiana University.
Avery L. Staley has been named chief of staff. Currently, he serves as the inaugural vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion at Lenoir-Rhyne University in North Carolina.
