Trump Targets Dr. Lisa Cook: Controversy Surrounding the Federal Reserve

Governor Lisa Cook, a distinguished economist, has committed her career to breaking down obstacles to innovation and economic inclusion. Since her tenure on the Federal Reserve Board, she has contributed profound expertise while upholding independent and principled decision-making.Historically, no president has attempted to remove a Federal Reserve governor in the institution's 111 years—until now. President Trump seeks to dismiss Cook—the first Black woman to hold a position on the Federal Reserve Board—without substantiated claims of misconduct. This represents a clear diversion from his inability to reduce costs for American citizens and serves as a transparent effort to install a compliant ally at the central bank.This action is unequivocally a racist, misogynistic, and unlawful assault on the Federal Reserve's integrity and autonomy.
