Urban League of Middle Tennessee celebrates successful year at 2024 Annual Meeting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nashville leaders, entrepreneurs and community members recently gathered at Nissan Stadium for the Urban League of Middle Tennessee’s 2024 Annual Meeting. In 2024, the Urban League has touched the lives of more than 10,000 Middle Tennesseans. During the event, ULMT President and CEO Clifton Harris provided the annual “State of ULMT Address” and recapped some of the nonprofit’s highest moments of 2024:
· Assisted more than 5,000 people with workforce training services through the Advancing Workforce Equity program. Nearly 250 individuals have secured employment through the program, with an average salary of $36,801 for an annual community reinvestment of almost $9 million.
· Completed 480 ULMT workforce development trainings in job readiness, financial literacy and conflict resolution.
· Assisted 1,758 reentry participants through our Forward Program for Reentry.
· Helped more than 2,400 community members re-entering the Middle Tennessee community through training, housing assistance, clothing, bus passes, stipends, expungement opportunities, driver’s license reinstatement, food bags and utility bill payments.
· Celebrated the 56th Annual Equal Opportunity Day (EOD) luncheon with nearly 600 community members.
