Vieux Fort Man Charged With Raymond Camsell Homicide

On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, about 9:00 a.m. Police Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Vieux Fort, responded to a report of a suspicious death referred by the St. Jude Hospital. Initial reports indicated that a male victim presented to the medical facility on Sunday, October 6, 2024, complaining of having been assaulted. Despite medical interventions, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, he succumbed due to his injuries. A post mortem examination was subsequently conducted, which revealed that Raymond Camsell a fifty-five (55) year old of Pierrot, Vieux Fort died as a result of Jejunal peritonitis, due to blunt trauma to the abdomen. On Saturday, October 12, 2024 Simeon James alias “Kanjoe” of Pierrot, Vieux Fort, was arrested and charged for causing the death of Camsell. He is currently remanded in custody.
