Destined for Each Other: Our Unforgettable Life Together

Kaleena and Marcus Watts’ journey began in August 1996 at Ramsay High School, where they bonded in a jovial freshman math class. "It was a class filled with laughter," Marcus reminisced. They later attended different colleges—Kaleena at Virginia University and Marcus at Mars Hill College. Despite the distance, they maintained their friendship, reuniting whenever possible. In 2006, upon her transfer to UAB and Marcus's return for Virginia College, they became roommates. Their first date at Costa’s Mediterranean Restaurant in fall 2007 marked a pivotal moment, signaling a shift in their relationship. Soon after, Marcus embraced the fatherly role with Kaleena’s toddler daughter, Kendall, and both began attending church together. This spiritual journey solidified their bond, ultimately leading to Marcus' proposal during a heartfelt conversation. They married in 2008 at The Marrying Place in Bessemer. Now, active members of Faith Chapel Christian Center, the couple has three children and shares wisdom on love and vulnerability in relationships.
