Wyclef Jean has issued a statement following Donald Trump’s baseless accusations about Haitian immigrants.During his debate with Vice President Kamala Harris earlier this week, Trump shared a debunked conspiracy theory that Democrats are allowing small towns such as Springfield, Ohio to be overrun by Haitians immigrants who are, in turn, eating the pets of the people who were already living in those towns. Talking to TMZ on Thursday (September 12), proud Haiti native Clef asked to put an immediate stop to the racism.“I will be forever grateful for my family’s life, for having a fair chance to live what is called the ‘American Dream,'” he began. “One of our greatest assets in America is that we are a country of immigrants. I speak from the heart when I say, Haitian people living in the U.S. are good neighbors and good people. We care about humanity. We care about our neighbors.
