Wynwood is gearing up for Miami Art Week with art museum galleries, on-the street art and special events.
Starting Dec. 2 and co-existing with Art Basel, Wynwood’s main street along Northwest Second Avenue is set to be filled with street, pop-up and graffiti art throughout its more than 50 square blocks.
Visitors and locals will have time and a place for serious collectors, art-world shakers, and the general culturally hungry public to sample the best of Wynwood and its thriving arts scene, said Florentino Diaz, Wynwood Business Improvement District (BID) interim executive director.
“Miami Art Week is like a 21st century cultural Woodstock for our Wynwood neighborhood,” he said. “The BID is the engine that reps and guides not just the artistic side of Wynwood, but also its booming business and development wave, helping to stitch together all aspects of community life.”
On tap will be art fairs, events, and programming from local leading art institutions and galleries. Wynwood-specific Art Week highlights for 2024 include:
