Amazon Delivery Driver Suspended After Video Shows Racist Threats to Black Woman in Gated Community

Amazon has placed a delivery driver on suspension after he was filmed unleashing a racist tirade against a Black tenant, following his entrapment inside a gated apartment complex in Los Angeles. Footage acquired by KTTV reveals the driver engaged in a vulgar outburst after his attempt to complete a delivery in Cudahy led to his being stuck in the gated area. After following a resident who accessed the premises, he found himself unable to exit. Mistakenly believing a Black female tenant was the property manager, he began launching racial epithets and menacing threats directed at her. Moreover, surveillance captured him leaving a disturbing voicemail loaded with racist slurs for the property manager, Joel Estrada. Estrada expressed frustration over Amazon’s lack of a proper reporting mechanism for such incidents. Najee Ali, director of Project Islamic Hope, is advocating for engagement with Amazon to address these serious allegations. Amazon has confirmed the driver's suspension while they conduct their investigation into this unacceptable behavior.
