5-Year-Old Girl Fatally Shot on Chicago’s West Side

Reign Ware (Credit: GoFundMe) A 5-year-old girl was shot and killed early Sunday morning on the West Side, according to police. The incident occurred around 3:32 a.m. in the 200-block of South Campbell Avenue near Jackson, in the Near West Side neighborhood. Police reported that a group of people were standing outside when shots were fired. The girl, identified as Reign Ware by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, was inside a parked car when she was hit in the abdomen. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died. A 24-year-old man, who was also shot in the thigh, was taken to the hospital in good condition.
