Set to debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2025, the impressive 390-foot vessel, known as “Breakthrough” or Project 821, may have been commissioned by Gates himself. Reports indicate billionaire Patrick Dovigi, head of Green For Life Environmental Inc., could be the prospective buyer, according to the New York Post.Built over five years by the Dutch shipyard Feadship, with design by RWD, this innovative yacht features a cutting-edge hydrogen fuel cell system, storing liquid hydrogen at an astonishing minus 253 degrees Celsius. While Gates has yet to be seen aboard, Breakthrough boasts the title of the world’s first hydrogen-powered ‘net zero’ superyacht.
