A 5th-Grade Teacher in New Jersey Is Accused of Assaulting a Boy and Giving Birth to His Child

Investigators claim that a fifth-grade teacher in New Jersey had a kid with a boy who she sexually assaulted for four years. On January 15, 2025, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office announced that Laura Caron, 34, of Cape May Court House, New Jersey, was charged with sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. Caron is suspected of having a sexual encounter with one of her kids when she was teaching fifth grade at Middle Township Elementary School. According to investigators, the student was approximately eleven years old when the sexual assault started in 2016. According to an affidavit of probable cause that NBC Philadelphia was able to obtain, investigators stated that the student was residing at Caron’s house at the time and occasionally woke up in Caron’s bed.
