A Look Back: Hiram Rhodes Revels, first African American U.S. Congressman

As Black History Month comes to a close, we look back at Randolph County’s connection to a notable piece of that history. February 25 also marked the 155th anniversary of Hiram Rhodes Revels becoming the first black man to be seated in the United States Senate by a vote of 48 to 8.
