A Father’s Day excursion to the beach turned tragic for a father from Florida who lost his life while attempting to rescue his two children from drowning.On June 16, at approximately 7 p.m., Fort Lauderdale authorities received alarming reports concerning a drowning incident at a coastal resort, as reported by local media.Antwon Wilson, age 33, reportedly plunged into the ocean to save his children, who were struggling in the water. According to law enforcement, Wilson managed to support his young daughter—estimated to be between 7 and 10 years old—keeping her afloat briefly, but ultimately went under and did not reappear.Lifeguards, who had completed their shifts 20 minutes prior, responded quickly upon hearing distress cries. Battalion Chief Daniel Moran stated that they successfully retrieved the daughter soon after Wilson's submersion. Both children and a good Samaritan who had attempted a rescue were taken to the hospital. Tragically, Wilson did not survive. Authorities confirmed that the girl and her rescuer are likely to recover.
